Whether you're a local or a traveler, this restaurant offers a truly Japanese dining experience you won't forget.

The star of the show here is, of course, the yakitori - skewered and grilled to perfection. One of the most popular dishes is the レバー (liver), a rich and tender treat that is full of flavor. If you're looking for a bit of variety, the 皮 (skin) is another crowd favorite, offering a crispy yet succulent bite. For something a bit lighter, try the ねぎま (chicken with leek), which pairs beautifully with a glass of wine or your favorite alcoholic drink from the extensive beverage list.

For those who enjoy a bit of heat and crunch, the ピーマン (green peppers) are grilled just right, bringing out their smoky flavors. Don’t miss out on the 豚足 (pig’s trotters) - it’s a unique delicacy that’s tender, savory, and deeply satisfying. Another must-try is the キャベツ (cabbage), which is lightly seasoned and grilled, offering a perfect balance to the richness of the skewers. If you're still hungry after indulging in the skewers, the Grilled Rice Balls are a perfect way to finish off your meal - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

“ I visited "Akiyoshi" in Tennoji on a Wednesday evening, just past 8 PM. The restaurant was already buzzing with patrons, filled to capacity, but I managed to snag a spot at the counter. My first order was a draft beer (572 yen) and two servings of cucumber (72 yen each). The cucumbers were remarkably simple yet refreshingly crisp, pairing perfectly with the beer. As I perused the menu, I decided on "mino" (506 yen), "shiru" (457 yen), "kushikatsu" (451 yen), "kimchi" (341 yen), and a large sake (616 yen). While waiting for my food, I nibbled on the cucumbers, savoring the anticipation of the upcoming dishes. The "mino" was the first to arrive. Lightly grilled, its presentation was impeccable, and each bite offered a satisfying chew and rich, fatty flavor. The "shiru," true to its name, was a deeply flavored broth that provided a comforting warmth, seeping into my senses. Next came the "kushikatsu," perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, complemented by a tangy sauce. The "kimchi" offered a well-balanced fermentation with a delightful tang and spice, serving as an excellent palate cleanser between the richer dishes. With a large sake in hand, the flavors of each dish were further elevated. The variety of skewered delights, including "juntori," "wakatari," "negima," "harami," "shiro-negi," and "piman," each presented unique textures and flavors, making every bite a new experience. As all the dishes arrived, the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant seemed to enhance the flavors, creating a lively and enjoyable dining experience. Every dish was delicious, although I regretted not being able to try the "yakionigiri" and "potato fries" due to the busyness of the restaurant. Despite this, I fully savored the essence of "Akiyoshi." I left with a deep appreciation for the restaurant's offerings, eagerly anticipating my next visit when I hope to explore even more of their menu. It was a thoroughly satisfying evening, filled with culinary delights that left me longing for more. ”

“ Very friendly staff, excellent food, easy to read English menu, super reasonable prices and great service. Great mix of travellers and locals here. Good place to get a local perspective on what's good around town. ”

- Andrew Spindler (Spinny85) -

“ Yes it’s a chain but it’s stell quite authentic and the prices are INSANELY LOW. Especially compared to Kyoto or Tokyo. 5 Yakitori for 350 yenny on average ? That’s a crazy good price. Food is prepared super fresh and the prices for drinks are reasonable too. This is one of the few good food options in Osaka. ”
